Gratitude

I've been reflecting a lot about what I am thankful for, with Thanksgiving being in the recent past and all.   I think that there are 2 virtues that go hand in hand in being thankful and that is gratitude and charity.  I am so thankful for the country, city and place that I call my home. I am thankful to have been born into a family who loves me and taught me the gospel.  I am thankful to my savior, Jesus Christ and for his atonement so that though I'm not perfect (we all know this :), I can still make it back to my heavenly father someday.  I am thankful for a good husband and the most amazing kids.  I am thankful for my home and the fact that my husband and I have good, dependable jobs to support our family in their necessary and worldly means.  I..am...just grateful...for my life and my health.

The past 6 months I have had the oppurtunity to work in home care.  I return home everyday from work, both humbled and grateful for my own circumstances.  Though I may think they are terrible or horrible at times, I only need to reflect on those less fortunate than I and guilt quickly follows.  There are so many people who need help in their own environment and circumstance....much more help than I will probably ever need.  How do we help all these people?  Sickness, poverty, less than poor living conditions.  I am so grateful and blessed for what I have, but where do I start?  How do I give back?

I have found myself saying prayers for these people as I leave their homes.  Its not much...but its a start....right?

I am just GRATEFUL and THANKFUL for all of the above and all of you,  family and friends.

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving.
